Cat Adoption

Mornington Vets has a cat adoption programme to help re-home some of the many homeless cats and kittens. So if you are thinking of getting a feline companion, please consider adoption. By adopting a cat or kitten, you will not only be helping a stray and abandoned cat, but will be receiving a pet that has been:

  • Vet checked
  • Vaccinated
  • Wormed
  • De-sexed
  • De-flead
  • Microchipped
  • Registered for life with a microchip registry

If you have any questions regarding the adoption programme or want to check current availability, please call us on  5975 3811.

Cats Available for Adoption…

TigerTiger 2 small

Tiger is a lovable boy who’s constant supply of snuggles are sure to put a smile on your face. Even through a mouthful of fur you can’t help but smile while Tiger repeatedly head butts you for affection. Tiger is used to a house with children but isn’t as obliging with dogs, he would prefer to have you to himself and not have to compete for your affection with other furry comrades. While he’s not so tolerant with other furry friends Tiger is patient and obliging with his people friends, so long as you remember he’s there and throw him some love here and there. At 3 years old Tiger has many years ahead of him to shower his new family with lots of love, attention, snuggles and the occasional contented drool. While all of us at the clinic love him dearly and welcome his cuddles interrupting our days we know he deserves a wonderful family who will love him even more than we do (if that’s possible!)

MillyMilly

Milly has really made herself at home in Adam’s office over the last few weeks, often seen sitting in the book shelf quietly observing us all perform our daily duties. However, it is time for Milly to move on to her forever home so we can make room for the many other homeless cats coming our way. If you think you may have place in your life for Milly, please feel free to pay us a visit and get to know this lovely three year old girl.

PhantomPhantom

We are very pleased to introduce Phantom! Granted an ominous name, but it in no way reflects this gentle boys nature. With only two years under his belt this cheeky soul has many a year ahead of him to shower you with affection! Never a smoochier boy will you meet, he nuzzles, he purrs and he playfully prods. His extremely attractive physique and entrancing gaze have the lovely ladies at the clinic swooning. If he was to join your home, be prepared to waste many a minute cuddling this personable boy, it’s almost impossible to stop fawning over him. He enjoys playing by himself or with you, but those rambunctious canines are just a little too much for this gentle boy. He prefers to admire them from afar! There will be many a broken heart here at the clinic when this lovable feline finds his well deserved forever home. In the meantime feel free to join the masses give him a cuddle at the clinic, he certainly won’t object!

OOllie

Ollie certainly has personality! This beautiful boy of 4 years has very easily compensated for his lack of name, his cuddles and intense smooching have earned him a fond spot in all our hearts. A true adventurer he likes to challenge himself by exploring all the nooks and crannies of the clinic. He is very easy going and will sit quite contently by your side as you go about your business, but when you give him the go ahead be warned he will smooch you almost to the point of exhaustion! He would prefer not to liaise with his canine friends but isn’t to fussed by them provided they aren’t slobbering all over him. He is a gorgeous ginger tabby who’s smooching will be sorely missed here at the clinic.

NinaAdoptedNina

Nina was such lovely cat we found her a home before we had a chance to add her to our site. No more to say!

Masara

MasaraIntroducing Masara, our most inspiring and humbling addition yet! Masara came to us from the Mornington Shelter, sporting several injuries which we believe she procured prior to her admission to the Shelter. She had a severely fractured front leg and a broken tooth, both would’ve been causing her quite a lot of pain. The cause of these injuries is unknown to us, but our concern is creating a bright future for this lovely girl. This meant a few surgeries for Masara, the first being a leg amputation, and then later a tooth extraction. She now quite happily hops around the clinic, jumping in and out of her bed with ease and following you until you succumb to her nuzzling and shower her with pats! We believe she is about 7 years old and after witnessing her ability to pull through almost anything, we see many more years ahead of her, and she will be sorely missed by us. Given her ordeals, although she is an easily adaptable cat, a loving home where she can be over-come with affection would be ideal.  To read more of Masara’s story click here

LouieAdoptedLouis

Louis is our newest addition to Mornington Veterinary Clinic, and a very welcome one at that. Keeping with his namesake King Louis certainly rules the roost! His affectionate and charming nature see’s all our lovely ladies swooning over him, ready with many cuddles and pats which he receives quite happily. At 2 years of age he even has our vets wondering just how it is he gets all the ladies. He even has the puppy dogs peering in to find his secret, to which he shows no interest. He will make an excellent companion or addition to your family!

The “K” Litter

Meet Kenicki, Kimba and Krumpet, three very affectionate and tumble-some boys, who in their 5 months have already become very efficient at sneaking their way into you heart. With their attractive markings and constant purring, it’s very hard not to be playing with them every minute of the day, which suits them fine! They strive for your attention and will smother you in love and affection as soon as you turn their way. Krumpet crawling onto your shoulder to perch and purr in your ear as he happily takes your stroking. Kenicki will entice you to play by tilting his head and acting unnaturally cute, before curling up for some love. Kimba  enjoys watching his brothers tumble before strategically pouncing on them and insists on making himself known by cuddling up to you, pushing his brothers out of the way. These three brothers have very quickly won over not only the affections of the staff but also their playmates Juno and Jasmine. Showing they can get along with anyone!!

The “J” Litter

Juno and Jasmine, two very sweet and docile little girls, until playtime, at which point they transform into fuzzy balls of fun! Bouncing off this wall only to end up on her head, to look up and pounce at a shadow, they will entertain you for hours, making sure to be very gentle when you want to join in, but as soon as playtime is over, they will curl up for pats and cuddles not making a sound, except persistent purring! Juno has a unique character and a real talent for fun, she loves a cuddle but make sure she can bring her toy! Jasmine is the sweetest little girl, who never fails to bring a smile to your face just by walking up to you, but don’t let her sweet and innocent face fool you she can definitely keep up with her sister when wrestling! These lovely ladies are quiet little girls but very tolerant! Little children and friendly dogs do not phase them, they would make excellent companions for most families!

IvanAdoptedIvan

Ivan has very quickly won over everyone at the clinic’s affections and is more than happy to lap up the attention and love we all can’t help but give him constantly. He is a one in a million cat who gets along with both dogs and cats alike, playing with anyone who will play back! He loves his toys and will provide hours of entertainment as he amuses himself by playing fetch with whatever he can bat away and chase. An inquisitive and creative boy, Ivan is only one year into his long life of mischievous fun! It can be safely said that when the day comes to say goodbye to him, all of us at the clinic will be very sad to see him go, and very envious of the person who gets to take him home!

The “H” Litter

Meet our newest additions, these 6 little bundles of entertainment came to the clinic after being abandoned. Each one has quickly found a special place in our affections and all of us at the clinic are eager to adopt them out before we each go home with a handful of kittens.  Hank the smooth one, is very quick to weasel a pat and a cuddle out of you, keeping you entertained with his very smooth moves. Harlow, true to her name is our Hollywood diva, never shy of attention or the camera, if someone else is getting love, you better be giving her some as well! Harvey, the sweet little boy, always there to brighten your day with a cuddle and a purr. Hershey, the younger sibling, being the smallest she is very eager to prove she can keep up with her precocious playmates, and rightly so! Houdini, a very suave and adventurous little man, he’ll find away to crawl onto you and bombard you with affection. Finally Humphrey, our carefree and easygoing resident, always happy to play, rest or cuddle, he’ll do whatever you want him to.  Each and every one of these special little kittens would make a wonderful addition to your family!

Ginny

Now here’s a very unique girl, both in appearance and demeanour. Her one blue and one green eye are just the start of this affectionate girls charms. Winning you over with her beautiful appearance and amazing you further with her loving nature and endearing mannerisms. This one of a kind girl will be sorely missed, but we know she will make a wonderful companion.

Felix

Felix is a seasoned old boy, but with 13 years experience he is an expert on showing love and affection. While his playful years may be behind him he is still a very lively companion, he follows the action and positions himself in a prime watching spot, ready to prod you with one of his large gentle paws to get a scratch. He has a lot of spirit and a wonderfully calm nature to match. We will be very sad  to let go of this gentle giant, but would love to see him settle into an early retirement in a loving home.

Esme and her kittens

Esme came to us on the 19th of April, a day after giving birth to six gorgeous kittens. Esme is one amazing cat with a perfect temperament, extremely affectionate, very friendly with dogs and other cats. It is going to be a sad day when we have to say goodbye to this beautiful girl and her kittens, but know she is going to make her new family very happy! If you are interested in Esme or one of her kittens, come and visit them at the clinic. They will all be available to leave the clinic for their new homes in early June.

Floss

Floss came to us from the Mornington Shelter and has settled in wonderfully. She gets along well with dogs and loves being handled and groomed, making her a wonderful companion, especially in a young or multi-pet household. She enjoys your attention but is just as happy to wind down and simply sit with you, purring constantly. This beautiful girl will adapt well to any type of household, making her the perfect new family member.

Diva

Another beautiful medium-haired girl with heaps of character and loves to play! She will enjoy a household with heaps of toys and attention. Diva is just over a year old.

Cleo

Cleo is beautiful white medium-haired cat who thrives on attention. She is extremely playful, very relaxed and easily handled by anyone. She is a joy to have around and will hopefully give someone years of enjoyment. Cleo is approximately six months of age.

Aston
