Learn from the vets

Like all relationships, that between owner and dog is based on good communication. Dogs communicate among themselves using body signals, naturally they will employ the same method to communicate with us.

A new baby in the house will always spell change, and a four legged baby is no exception! The introduction of a new family member, whether it's a puppy or a kitten, while an affair most exciting is also an occasion to exercise great care and forethought.

Just like us our pets often suffer from allergies, while in humans we often see respiratory complications, in pets allergic reactions are typically characterised by skin problems. These skin problems are generally exacerbated by their primary symptom – itching and scratching!

It can certainly be said that in some cases getting your pet from A to B is no easy task. How an animal travels is variable, some love cars, others would rather run a mile than jump in an automobile.

Vets are commonly presented with a pet that has hind limb weakness. Sometimes this occurs suddenly and is very obvious. In some circumstances, the changes come on slowly and may only be noticed by the vet during routine examination.

As many dog owners know, the trauma caused by fly bites can be a frustrating problem. Flies seem particularly fond of ear margins, especially the ear tip. They will occasionally settle for tip of the tail.
