Dentistry
Dental disease of varying severity is likely to affect your pet at some point in their life. Dental pain can often go unnoticed for quite some time & is likely to influence their wellbeing & overall health. Preventative care & early recognition can aid in slowing its progression as well as limiting the need for dental procedures.
Symptoms of dental disease
- Bad breath
- Difficulty chewing or refusing food
- Excessive salivation (drooling)
- Tartar/ plaque build-up on teeth
- Inflamed gums
At MVC we offer dental examinations to identify those in need of dental procedures. Dental procedures include a general anaesthetic & depending on the severity of disease, a scale & polish, dental radiographs & if required extractions of diseased teeth. Should extractions be required, we make use of various anaesthetics, analgesics & nerve blocks to ensure your pet is as comfortable as possible.
