Cruciate Surgery
The cruciate ligaments are 2 bands of connective tissue that cross over within your dog’s stifle (knee) joint and are responsible for stabilising the joint. We often diagnose cruciate ligament injuries and some of these injuries may require surgical intervention in order to regain joint stability.
At MVC we perform the following stabilisation surgeries:
- Extracapsular Repair surgery (ECR) for dogs under 15kg,
- Tibial Plateau Levelling Osteotomy surgery (TPLO) for dogs over 15kg.
