Health Checks And Preventative Medicine
Our goal is to provide you & your beloved pet with the highest quality care. We aim to keep you informed about general & preventative healthcare in order to ensure your pet maintains a happy & healthy life.
Your pet’s consultation will start with the collection of a history - this will include a few questions about your pet’s general health & whether you have any particular concerns. A physical examination will be performed & depending on the reason for the presentation, will be followed by a discussion & recommendations regarding further diagnostics and/or treatments if deemed necessary.
For our canine and feline friends, a nose-to-tail physical examination includes (at a minimum):
- eye examination
- ear examination
- dental examination
- fur/skin examination
- listening to your pet's heart and chest
- abdominal examination by palpation (pressing on the surface of the body to feel the organs and tissue underneath)
- assessing your pet's limbs and joints
Our nurses are also happy to offer advice wherever possible and regularly answer questions regarding:
- parasite control for dogs and cats
- puppy vaccinations and kitten vaccinations
- nutritional advice for dogs and cats, including weight management
